We train in Singapore!

Systema has no techniques. It is a martial art defined not by patterns or forms but by what it does for each person who trains it:

- Calmness under stress
- Mobility under pressure
- Situational awareness in daily life
- Resilience in body and mind

The difference between Systema and other martial arts is that we don’t prescribed fixed responses to situations. Everything we do from striking, grappling, takedowns and weapon work is practiced from first principles, using slow and soft practices to allow each participant to pick up the required skills to execute at speed if needed. This is why it is both safe and beginner friendly.

In addition, you will find that health and self defence are always put together. Our approach is to teach and train combat in a way that is natural to each individual, beneficial for their general health and therefore immediately accessible in all circumstances.

We also have a great community and team of instructors who are always willing to help you learn! We are open to people of all backgrounds and age groups, so feel free to drop a DM! Also copying the link and sharing it with your friends is always appreciated :)

LIFETIME MASTERY Summer camp is perhaps 12 hours

LIFETIME MASTERY

Summer camp is perhaps 12 hours a day of training in the fields and woods, swimming, wresting in and out of the water, banya and massage. But for many of us, summer camp represents so much more than just a training event. From the first experience of the masters to forging new friendships and alliances, to bearing the news of a lost comrade in the journey (rest in peace @om.nom.nom.ni.vore) to life changing meetings, this summer camp was the first time a whole crew of us went down together and so it was a big reunion of friends who now live across 4 countries who all got to know each other through Systema and Systema Singapore.

And so we laughed and smiled and probably reminisced our journeys as we punched, kicked, stabbed and shoved massive sticks, knives and each other into trees and fellow humans as we listened intently to the teachings and sharings of @systemavasiliev to understand ourselves deeper and become stronger, more courageous and better versions of ourselves so that through our hands and feet we might perhaps add to the healing and protection of the people around us through this unique methodology as we walk the path of mastery.

Who says a martial art has to be dreary and repetitive? Or dark and aggressive? Systema is fundamentally a very human art and obstinately refusing to be simplified into forms and patterns, it retains the full breadth of human dynamism and complexity through the full range of human experiences.

Perhaps this is the Lifetime Mastery we seek - to be able to live a life fiercely devoted to the things we love and to be able to be on the journey to master an art which embraces every aspect of life.

Systema Singapore is proud to host this highly anticipated collaboration event! Our closing seminar for this year’s Systema 1.0 «YOU ARE (NOT) WEAK» series focusing on presenting the “strength” aspect of Systema’s values “Strength, Courage and Humility”.

Our Transformation of Pain seminar is just next we

Our Transformation of Pain seminar is just next week! For our anniversary event this year, we will be hosting @h2htactics for a joint seminar on pain management, recovery as well as the psychology of self defense. The name of the topics might sound a little intimidating, but just like Systema’s approach to combatives, we will be sharing a progressive methodology on how to manage, recovery and prevent pain and to heal from past experiences which left fear and trauma. Come join us as we explore this important topic for all martial artists and for people in daily life!

For this seminar we will be having both David Mundi from @h2htactics and Lau Wen Hsin share their perspectives on pain management and how we can learn to transform these into meaningful signals for our training and lives. Dave has had an extensive background in training combatives and firearms and professionally trains people in violent situations such as bodyguards and bouncers.

Our month end workshop was a blast with @veenassa

Our month end workshop was a blast with @veenassa doing her first sharing of some work from her recent training with @systema_osaka. Ever since our seminar with @wheelersystema, it seems everyone has become fairly liberal with our strikes and throws, but it’s all been good fun!

Our 3rd seminar in our «YOU ARE (NOT) WEAK» mastery series: Transformation of Pain

So far we have looked at the fundamentals and body work of Systema as well as ground fighting and situation awareness in our seminars with @systemaacademy @wheelersystema and @systema_tyo

This upcoming seminar we will be looking into an aspect of Systema that deals both with the combative side as well as the health aspect - pain management.

Many martial arts discuss technical aspects and strategies in combat, but many techniques depend on assuming the person can actually function at the executive level of training. Grit, determination and raw brute force might work - but is there another way?

Nicely, this topic lends itself to the health aspect of Systema as well. Chronic pain or injury leads us to be unable to use our bodies in the “normal way” we wish we always have. In this seminar we will explore how psyche, recovery and relaxation can help you to find the “other way” of doing martial arts and approaching health.
