What Is Systema?

Systema is a Russian Martial Art founded by the late Colonel Mikhail Ryabko and Vladimir Vasiliev. Systema was designed to develop individuals in a combative style which upholds the intrinsic value of all human life. This is why it is non-destructive – even of one’s enemies. Through the use of simple exercises, breathing techniques and massage work, Systema helps you to build a strong mind and body.

Systema employs a simple approach to learning the martial art – there are only 4 basic principles in Systema: Breathing, Relaxation, Movement, and Posture. Having a simple approach enables new students to quickly get up to speed with the required skills for practical use as quickly as possible.
