This month will be a huge focus for newcomers to Systema. From the basic skills of breathwork, rolling, falling and sharing on how to best maximise training effectiveness, come join us in learning Systema from the ground up this holiday season!

Once in a while we like to throw everyone into a mess with crowd drills which just helps to make sure the work we do doesn’t get caught up into a single partner with predictable patterns. When pushes come from all over, it’s hard to overthink how to move and you have to let your body follow the flow.

This December we will be running out beginner’s training series where we will bring key elements of Systema training to all participants. If you would like to join us, do drop us a message!

SYSTEMA WALL WORK (CONTINUATION) [Part 2 of 2]

Learning to move comfortably along the wall (maybe we can show this some time) helps to develop mobility and familiarity against hard surfaces. More than that, it also helps give a baseline for comfort which is portable to working with a partner. The dynamic movement and calmness also helps you feel very free.

Training in the Russian Martial Art is a way to truly understand ourselves better to see our limits and pride to see how truly weak we really are.

The training is dynamic and fluid, with no set patterns to repeat. Instead, fun and challenging drills are performed to give every participant a way to break out of a self limiting mindset to understand true freedom.

SYSTEMA WALL WORK (CONTINUATION) [Part 1 of 2]

Following from some work against the wall including getting repeatedly shoved into it repeatedly (safely of course), we begin to take the same feeling of movement along the hard surface to working with a partner. The idea here is simple - if we can feel comfortable navigating a hard surface, it should be comparatively easier to move around a softer surface.
